Christmas in Quimixto provides educational assistance, school supplies, family living needs and love to the children living in Quimixto, Jalisco, Mexico.
I started this endeavor after my first trip in 1980 when I was overwhelmed by the jungle beauty and waterfall and the kindness and love from the people who live there. I knew I would return and I knew I would not come empty handed. Because of wonderful friends and so many with giving hearts, we have been able to enrich Quimixto school life for all the children...now starting the 3rd generation.
Quimixto is a small fishing village in the southern Bay of Banderas, near Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. It is only accessible by boat and most of its residents work in the tourism and fishing industries.
There is one school and two teachers for about 65 children from kindergarten to the sixth grade. Christmas In Quimixto helps to ensure their basic educational expenses (which includes uniforms, school supplies, teacher supplies, class room maintenance), assists in scholarships and provides the services this community can’t afford.
It has been my pleasure and my honor to raise funding, organize and provide to this wonderful community.
It has been with the help of my US, Canadian, Mexican friends, and my college & high school friends and all those I've met over the years that have made this endeavor a great success.
THANK YOU, GRACIAS & BIG BLESSINGS for your love, kindness and giving.
